Lo Studio Del Campo e lo smalto a gran fuoco a Torino

Lo Studio del Campo, specializzato nella produzione di smalti a gran fuoco su rame, è stato una realtà di eccellenza nell’ambito delle arti applicate torinesi. Venne fondato nel 1957 da Virgilio Bari, Euclide Chiambretti, Lidia Lanfranconi e Bianca Tuninetto. Gli smalti Del Campo sono certamente tra i migliori realizzati nel Novecento in Italia. Grazie alla sperimentazione e alla
collaborazione con architetti come Gio Ponti ed Ettore Sottsass, oltre ai torinesi Giuseppe Raimondi, Augusto Romano e Aldo Morbelli, lo Studio ha saputo creare oggetti di notevole valore tecnico e formale. Accanto alle realizzazioni artistiche in esemplare unico, realizzate su disegno dei titolari dello studio, era vastissima la proposta di oggetti d’uso come maniglie, piastre e decorazioni. L’arte dello smalto applicata all’architettura ha creato maniglie che non è difficile trovare negli edifici torinesi costruiti tra il 1955 e la fine degli anni settanta: sono “brillanti” testimonianze di una stagione ormai tramontata.

 

Studio Del Campo, the art of enamel on copper in Turin

The Studio del Campo, specialized in the production of enamels on copper, has been a reality of excellence in the Turin applied arts. Virgilio Bari, Euclide Chiambretti, Lidia Lanfranconi and Bianca Tuninetto founded it in 1957. Del Campo enamels are certainly the best made in the twentieth century in Italy. Alongside the unique specimen artistic pieces, designed and made by the owners of the studio, objects such as handles, plates and decorations were very diffused. The art of enamel applied to architecture has created door handles that are not hard to find in turinese buildings built between 1955 and the end of the ‘70s: they are “ brilliant” testimonies of a past season.
